Right outside of Frisco on the west end of town you will find the trailhead for North Ten Mile Trail. In minutes you feel as if you are in the middle of a wilderness area (which you are) and that is the beauty of this trail. You can make it as long or as short as you like because it intersects with the Gore Creek Trail and others beyond that. You could hike for days. This hike is nice and undulating without steep climbs so it’s a great choice for a family outing. Most of the trail is in the forest so you won’t get huge views but it’s still a worthy trail. Pack a nice picnic lunch and find a spot along the trail to share some time with family and friends.

If you’re still hungry after your picnic lunch, there are many good choices for restaurants in Frisco. I would head to Peppinos Pizza, The Boatyard or Butterhorn Bakery and Cafe for some great homemade choices. For an overnight stay think about the cozy, comfortable Hotel Frisco right on the main drag.
