Okay, so either Burton is your thing or it’s not. To wear the Burton Billboard Slouch Beanie, you not only have to like Burton, you have to LOVE it. Just as it name suggests, wearing this hat means advertising the Burton name in full force, since “BURTON” is tattooed in bold colors around ¾ of the hat. There’s no need to be totally put-off, because it actually looks kind of good. However, I’ll will warn that the lettering is BIG!
I’m personally not a fan of wearing logos myself, so the Burton Billboard Slouch Beanie is not my style. However, I’d be lying to say that I don’t love Burton’s styles, this hat included. It comes in a few different dual colors – gray/blue, yellow/green, gray/white, pink/black, cream/maroon and white/black – some of which are flashier than others.
Ultimately, though, wearing Burton is all about taking on an attitude, the Billboard Beanie included. It has that hipster style slouch that communicates to the world that the wearer is marching to a beat of his or her own drum. It’s actually kind of ironic considering Burton is really the one holding the ropes, with the free advertising and everything.
In any case, if you’re into Burton and don’t mind wearing logos, this is a pretty cool hat. Keep in mind that the Billboard Slouch is more about looks than it is about warmth. Even if I did buy a Burton Billboard Slouch Beanie, I definitely wouldn’t wear it on a winter hike.
